This is Jennifer she is 15 years old and is a Freshman in highschool. She is an average student not to sure of what she wants to do in the future. For now she is enjoying playing volleyball. Her friends are big into beauty youtubers and Jennifer follows just enough to know what the newest trends are.

Jennifer would use my site to see what catches her interest and see if she can find a new perfume to throw in her gym bag.

Kaylin, 28, works as a young entrepreneur. She enjoys the work as she can put in a ton of hours but also make her own schedule. With this freedom she has an active social life and enjoys going to events. It could be a concert, a night club, or a gallery showing she loves to be surrounded by people and stay up with current events. She loves staying in fashion in any way possible.

May is 72 and is a working artist. She says she is too young to retire and will likely always say that. She enjoys seeing the work of others. May has a strong belief that exploring lots of interests is the key to life and adventure. She believes in long breakfast and tea time in the garden with a good book.

Design & Perfume

 I'm obsessed with perfume if you've known me at all you'll know that. (I have a perfume and sewing blog on my website GildedFish) One thing I like to do is look at the designs used for individual perfumes. For simpler Indy brands I like to re-imagine them designed with my style.

Right now I'm very attracted to Kitch in graphic design. I love me a yellow background. I am also a fan of the Indy bath and perfume brand Haus Of Gloi. I chose their Haus Coffee perfume for my first redesign.

 

I wanted brightness in the background but also a deep richness of color for the coffee. Coffee Haus as a scent is very strong and makes me think of a black breakfast coffee. Unfortunately this perfume arrived at my door after I had started this project. I work a lot and due dates are a thing, it doesn't always work out.

I will likely re-use this design for another of their coffee perfumes and start fresh with Coffee Haus.

Introduction

It's been a long 6 years since I've posted on this blog and like normal for everything I do I'm posting for a school assignment. (The same reason this blog got started the first time around.)

New Technique

 

The main idea of this technique is to take a drawing, mount it to a board, than layer acrylic medium and ink to build up color. There is some paint thrown in but it didn't work all that well. Oils are definitely needed.

Getting Back into Color

It has been a while since I've done anything traditional in color. I'm not a huge fan of colored pencils but I have been encouraged to get back into them. I do remember them being one of my most requested medium and thought why not?

Christmas

I finally got a poinsettia. I had wanted one for a long time as they are very lovely plants. They do need strict care to flower for Christmas. Hopefully I can provide what is needed. I also cut back my geranium. It needed badly; now to try and keep it from getting spindly again. So far keeping it under a light for 14 hours a day isn't working. I only have so many options.

Magic the Goat

I can tell things have been busy since in the last post I didn't even mention the hippies chasing a baby bear in the middle of town. Yep baby bear and hippies. Good times.

Holy Joe

It has been two weeks since I've been back at school and I feel my room is cursed, though my roommate says it is him that is causing all the bad luck. A short run down is his car broke down twice in a week, he shattered at box of glasses moving in, and that is just getting things going. The first weekend I was sick and while I was out getting cold meds it dumped rain for the exact 30 minutes I was gone. Both of us had our windows open. Him with his laptop and printer by the window and me with several power cords. I'm sure there are other little things but for now you get the idea.

Despite all this I can happily say I've found a few much wanted books at the thrift stores in town. I can also add some coffee to the list.

It is also very funny how often you hear people screaming because the sprinklers started going off.
