Fashion: Day 6

My fun time ends today. Starting tomorrow I have to start finishing my essays for the last days of school. By the beginning of May I will be home. I'm worried about getting a job and also worried about not being able to get one. It is just unpleasant all the way around. The whole process would be so much better if I knew it would be art related but, no matter how hopeful I am, I don't see that happening. Either way I am very much looking foreword to my break and I have lots of plans for the summer.

Mandala

My final in drawing was meant to be a series of work that came from observation. Lucky for me my teacher made an exception and allowed me to draw Mandalas for my series. I've always been attracted to circular patterns. I would doodle them all through my classes in junior high and early high school. The universe took it upon itself to remind me of thing just in time for my final. By this I mean the subject kept coming up. In art history we where going over cathedrals with rose windows as a focus at times. I was also watching Peter Draws, someone who is a wonderful ink based artist who does do very intricate mandalas from time to time. Even my roommate would bring it up while I was playing with the idea of my series. She gave me two mandala coloring pages.

All of thing reminded me of how much I love doing this type of art. I'm really glad for that. I'll need to keep doing them. They all turned out really well. (Though the coppery one was never finished. I ran out of time. To be fair I only had to do 3.) I used those 50 cent folk art paints from walmart, basic crayola thin markers, and derwert colored pencils. Maybe there was some contey pencil in there too. It has been a while.

Hard Times

Last semester I came back to Colorado to start on the second half of my degree. I want nothing more then to be an art teacher. Of all the self doubts I have and all the insecurities that is the one thing that I truly believe in. I would be a great teacher. I've always been interested in learning information and passing it on. I know this is the right thing for me. This school has made me happy, really really happy. I loved every one of my classes and the people I meet shocked me with how good they where. I spent all my time trying to do the best I could and get he most out of my school. I participated in ways I never have in school before. I pushed myself hard to excel at all the art I did.

I felt like I was getting somewhere.

I'm probably not going back. My mom works the hardest out of everyone I know. She tried so, so hard to be able to pay for my school. It isn't working and her health isn't good. I've been working to find a job for the last month and it hasn't come through. I've looked for scholoarships but I don't qualify for the ones at my school till I get into my program. I need just one more class. Just one more class and I could get some help but I have no means to get that class done.

I got my fafsa information today....They are not going to help. I really hate fafsa. They don't ask what debt you have. They don't ask if you have had health issues that have set you back. They don't care if your father doesn't intend to help.

I don't know what I am going to do. I haven't a clue how to get out of this situation. How do I get people to notice me? To help?

I know I'm good at art but what do I do to benefit from that?

I feel really helpless right now.

Dieing here!

I'm not even sure where to begin. So much has happened since I last posted. I think I'm going to skip talking about work except to say it is getting better.

I'm pretty sure I'm sick. This would be the first time in years. It is ether that or I'm finally starting to react to the pollen which I never have reacted before. My throat hurt for a long time from talking so much at work. I finally got some cough drops and it went away, only for me to wake up with a runny nose, coughing, and lots of sneezing. I hope it goes away before I work on Friday.

I haven't slept much over the last few days. For one thing stress keeps waking me up and I'm skipping meals because of it. Beyond that I have 4 papers due all within the same 4 day school week. Most are 8-10 pages long. The first, even though I started it well before the due date, was such a pain I didn't get it done till the day it was due. This left me with a research paper due the next day after that one was due and I hadn't started. I ended up staying up all night and skipping class to get it done. I finished about 30 minutes before class and even then I was a page and a half short. At least I got the word count down. I still have one due Thursday that I haven't started.

I'm still taking the night off. I need the sleep and relaxation too much.

Here is a little needle work practice. It is all I have time for.

Pikachu Plush

I like my teachers so far. Don't like that I had to buy all the books. I mean really it went down like this "Pick 8 chapters from the book to write your essay on." I spent way to much money today on books, yarn, and zippers. Oddly enough the zippers cost more then the books (non text book) and the yarn. Oh one of my teachers is....a hard ass.. Not from his grading, as far as I know, but he may kick you out of class for....just about anything. No phones at all in the class, if your kid is sick have them call security to come and get you, I'm just waiting for him to start on jewelry.
My friend had to prod me a bit to do this post....well tell me to draw pikachu. It is sweltering hot here, wtf, and I just didn't want to do anything. But I was good.

This got me rambling in my head though. I was thinking maybe I should try uploading on the weekends, two drawings and one plushie. Then I was all "no slacking you failure." I shouldn't be overworking myself. When have you ever worked too much?

I feel this isn't a choice I can make in the first month....let alone on the first day back to school.

Boo Filet

So I did end up getting graph paper in between my first two classes, even cut it short for getting there on time, and I didn't think putting little x's in blocks to make pictures would be so wonderful. Not even kidding. I can see myself going crazy doing this. I had 4 done by the time I got out of Lit class. Also figures that teacher, the one that wasn't killing me, would announce, on a very important weekend, that an essay would be due this Sunday. My head....I can't even.

Even though I feel stressed, and know I'm pretty much going to fail my test tomorrow, even though I got a C on my last history test, I have this to cheer me up: I found Racso and the Rats of NIMH for 50 cents. SCORE.

.....Well that joy lasted for all of 30 seconds. -back to stress and studies-

Wait didn't I say I wasn't going to whine?
