Krita
I found a new art program called Krita. I love it right away and in my budget of free. The brushes are fantastic and drool worthy. The filters could use some work. They have a great range of filters and controls but they are buggy. I'm fine with that because they packed a lot into the program so it is understandable that it isn't perfect. I hit one of these bugs while darkening a layer and it added a lot of line static. I decided to go with it and now I want a t-shirt.

Orange Cat
Yesterday was great. I went with my family to the state history museum. I had a great time with the Mayan section. Almost immediately I wanted to rush home and start making a plushie never mind if I had commissions or not. They have the cutest animals ever. I had a really great time in the science section. My Dad and eye played around with a lot of the inventions an optical illusions. We spent about 10 minutes on this one balance tester. The score for the day was 2.7 seconds and we would not leave until it was beaten. I was the first one to get anywhere close it it at 2.3 and did better over all then my dad because I would get in the high 1's. My dad wins the final score though. I had given up and told him he had one more try, the rat got 3.4 and we ended the moment with a awkward not facing each other highfive. Another one we did was where you had to try and trace the lines of a star inbetween too copper pieces. The copper would buzz if you hit it. The hard part was that you had to trace it in a mirror. My dad hit my arm my first try to test it. I got him back by telling him to try on the other and then proceeded to laugh at all the buzzing and his version of cursing coming from the other side. I managed, the time I wasn't pushed, to do the whole star without hitting the copper. I came close though.
The art section was down but there was art being displayed by the artist Mort Kunstler. It isn't very often that both me and my dad adore an artist but he made us both fall in love. I wanted nothing more then to rush home and paint. I was just short of declaring that I needed to stay off the internet so I could become a master. That was pushing it but I am seriously considering doing it when I transfer schools and I told him so.
Here is his wedsite: Mort Kunstler
Also this may be tmi but it needs to be said, the way to make yourself hate everyone around you is to have to use the restroom painfully for a half hour. Everyone instantly becomes assholes.

Anniversary
So Gaiaonline had its 10th anniversary yesterday and I freaken loved it. I talked to so many people. I meet a couple who based their characters off of the Real Disney Housewives so there was a drunken Cinderella and a prince running around with gifs. I talked to so many people, even found a few mods to ask things of. I got a spooky anon gift. It was cool.
I didn't post this yeserday do to the fact my camera battery died. It takes months for that to happen and I always fail to realize when it is going.

Valentines Day
The end of the weeks seem to be pretty hard on me now. It is kinda odd knowing that taking Vitamins has a distinct difference the longer it has been since I had one. This just reminds me of how hard it was every day before that and I didn't really realize the drastic difference. That being said I went straight to bed as soon as I got home at 5 and stayed that way till 7. I guess it is a good thing I didn't have a date or anything planned. I get the feeling I knew today would be off, I got a shower before bed last night something I haven't done in a long time since I tend to favor taking them in the morning now. I didn't even get changed this morning, I just stayed in the guy shirt and paint stained pants. This lead to the awkwardness of having almost the same shirt as my Lit teacher. I was also abnormally cold, normally I'm the last in long sleeves but today I saw people wearing way less and perfectly fine. I knew it was pretty bad when I had three blankets on, something I don't do till it gets below 30.
As for it being a holiday, well I got a chuckle at the fact that the only songs I heard on the way home where break up songs. Nice radio, good job. I also loved the youtube videos that came out today or over the last few days, I felt the need to share them all.

Witch Cat
So wile I was coming home today I saw a deer that had been hit by a car and thought it look liked crushed watermelon pieces. Ether that is the weirdness that all "artists" have or my thoughts are decomposing as fast as my grades.
Ether way after failing a test I said I'm going to give myself a breather. I'm going to watch Scishow and make things. As it stands right now my grades are suffering in the short term but over all are still relatively high and I have three projects almost half way done. Sadly I didn't get any crochet pieces finished but I did take 10 minutes to draw a witch cat I have in my closet. Why is the poor thing in my closet you ask? Its head is sloshing off and needs to be stitched back on.
I'm wondering when I became the type of person who debates how a bartering system can help the economy and how the government comes into play. I'll spare you the conversation even if I find it interesting. It did get me thinking about if I could get people to give me books for doodles. It would make my day. Never mind the fact I have probably close to 70 to read already. Can't you see my complaints I'm busy! -jabs the scolding thoughts away-

For Summer
This cat is based on SummerLoveZ (From Zantarni)'s Cat.
One last little detail to add here, I've been having a good bit of motivation trouble lately, the last month of class always kills me so I'm going to take off from blogging untill class starts again, just as a refresher period. That and gives me a chance to throw myself into video games.

Yellow Cat
Rather then finish one in a single night I ended up watching a movie with my dad. We watched "My Name is Nobody." Very good movie considering it wouldn't normally be anything I even thought about watching.

Green Cat
I used a new type of yarn with this one. It is among those I bought the other day and is called Sugar'n Cream. This is my first natural fiber yarn. It is cotton rather then acrylic.
On a chuckle worthy note it says it is USA grown cotton but made in Canada.
I really do like using it and would like to use it again if possible.

Orange Cat
I need to stop these. I do them because I don't feel like drawing but it takes away from bigger projects. I'll stop eventually but I like using up the yarn. I can also pretend I have the space.
I'm not too sure how I feel about Blogspots new system. I know it is the same old same old, complain till you get use to it, but I still feel the need to do so.

Purple Cat
It is about time I got back into crochet. I don't need to lose any of the speed I picked up. Not to mention the few projects I have laying around need to get done.

One of those things...
I love these types of stories and when I say these I mean stories that are insignificant but stick with you. I've had a lot of stuffed animals in my life, I still own a good number of them, and I can tell you who got them for me or how. There is one that stands out to have a bit more meaning, it is a ty beanie baby with the tag ripped off. It was given to me by a little girl, when I was a little myself, that I only knew one day as far as I can remember. She was shockingly generous. This cat always made me want to pick it up when I looked at it, pet it in some way, even now, at least 10 years later, the affect still stays.
When I was in the 6th grade my daycare had a little project. We would send a stuffed animal around the US in the mail, have pictures taken and have stories written about the day they spend with it. I kept the book but it got left behind in my move.
This is just what stuck with me, a weird sentiment about something not important. I can't remember the little girl at all but I know she is apart of my life anyway.

Materials
I'm very cheap when it comes to materials in most cases. A large amount of my yarn comes from my Aunts or places like Big Lots that sells small, special type yarns for a dollar. I also use acrylic, man made fibers, to keep the cost down. Brands like Red Heart use these types of fibers and cost around $2.33. I consider this a pretty good price for the amount of stuffed animals you can make with it. By far the most common type of yarn that I adore is Pound of Love from Lion Brand. As the name suggests it really is a pound. For $7.97 this yarn just keeps going and going to the point sometimes I want it to go away. Slowpoke, as well as these projects:
have been made using this pound of love yarn. As you can see by the last picture I more then likely still have half the skein. You can also see a tan lump of Satin Bernat yarn. It is a very nice feeling yarn with a bit of a shine to it that the others just don't have. The fuzzy cat had the pound of love paired with Phentex Fashion Eight yarn. It took one skein of the Fashion Eight yarn and came from Big Lots. One last type of yarn I use regularly was a gift from my Aunt when she was cleaning out her stash. It is called Luster Sheen and is a very small type of yarn.
Here are my crochet hooks:
Starting with the purple they are K/101/2-6.50mm, a standard size H, a G/6-4.25mm, a F/5-3.75mm, a E/4-3.50mm, and finally a 5/1.90mm. K is used for doubling up on yarn or for special fuzzy yarn. Both kittens at the start of the page where made using this hook. The second is what I use for Red Heart yarn or others like it. G and F can both be used for baby thread but more often then not I will use F. E is what I use for Luster Sheen. 5 is good for thread. I do not use my 5 hook often but it is a handy little one to have around.
And finally my top 5 yarns I currently have in stock:
1) Move over baby animals, snuggly ducklings, or anything else cute and associated with snuggles this is by far the softest thing I've found in a very, very long time.
2) Still very soft with deeper colors I don't often see with this type of yarn.
3) I'll admit it is a really weird set of colors that should be a crime to use for carpet, I'm looking at you my elementary school, yet I am deeply attracted to it in this skein.
4) I just realized this one looks like my bed spread....not too sure how I feel about that.
5) So far these rolls have been found at Big Lots but this final one came from my Aunt N and is a Red Heart Holiday yarn. I don't know if it was a limited time offer or if I'm lucky I can find it now. I'll just have to keep a look out.
Keep an eye out tomorrow there is more to come.
